About The Founder
Pastor David McDowell created Stewartstown Summer Theatre in 1980. He retired in October of 2022 after 43 summer performances and one alumni production. During this time, over 4,000 youth participated in Summer Theatre. From its modest beginnings in 1980, the theatre has grown into a vibrant community theatre, producing such musicals as Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast, Shrek, Into the Woods, and Singin' In the Rain.
