ABOUT THE SHOW
“I Wish..”
Into the Woods, the Tony award winning musical written by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, is a masterfully woven collection of four familiar Grimm’s Fairy Tales. The story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, Little Red Riding Hood who wishes to get to Grandmother’s house, Rapunzel who wishes to escape her tower and experience the world, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. There are many humorous and also poignant moments as the character’s paths cross in the woods. By the end of Act I, everyone’s wish is eventually granted. In Act II, the consequences of their actions in Act I return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
OUR PRODUCTION
This was our first production of Into the Woods. We staged twelve performances of the show.
